Old and new

I really enjoy coming across an old painting in my studio, spending half an hour applying some transparent washes and creating something new from old.

The view is across the wheat field near my home, early spring, weather dodgy, lots of stormy showers.  The textured sky and the abstracted shapes make it interesting to paint so here it is...ready to face the world with its make-up on.
