Wet and wintery.

Slow Thaw   Oils on gessoed 140lb watercolour paper   9 x 13 inches

Abstract qualities of weather and wet fields are the focus of this piece.
A hedgerow after a week of rain.

Studio Musings...

There are days when an unfinished painting needs to rest
before the decision is made on its future.

If I add more detail it will become tighter and I like the loose, sketchy appearance.
Also the smudged, rubbed down bits give a soggy look to the field.

The temptation to fiddle is the road to ruin.  I will leave it alone.
