Studio Musings...

Ampersand boards are challenging.  

This is my opinion of course, others may differ.

I have found that completing a strong underpainting, leaving it 

to dry and returning again later with a fresh mind suits me best.

Initially, the smooth surface was so frustrating. 

 I found my oils sliding all over the place. 

 In fact, I put this painting away for several months.

This week I tried again and found the surface was easier.

I pushed the oils around loosely and aimed for a relaxed impression.

Finished...I shall leave it alone now.
