Faded Glory Oils on canvas board 5 x 7 inches GIFTED
A few months ago I took a photograph of a bouquet of flowers sent to me. It was a very colourful flower arrangement and I thought of painting it like that. Out of interest I changed the photo to black and white.
I began the painting using ultramarine blue and burnt sienna to make a dark colour but as it evolved I added a little permanent rose and raw sienna. Titanium white helped to adjust the values. I abstracted the shapes as I didn't want to render the picture too closely to the photo.
I like the faded, sepia type image and it has inspired me to try changing a few more photos to see how they would make a painting.
